WELCOME! I'm so glad you're here ♥ I wanted my make a post about the overall theme and purpose of my socials and blog so that you'd know whether or not to stick around (I hope you do!). But first, here's some background info about me: I grew up in Ontario, Canada and now split my time between there and beautiful Nova Scotia! I am 20 years old and studying holistic nutrition. I plan to graduate this year, and then offer personal nutrition consulting. But for now, I'm a student and a figure skating coach. Which brings me into my health and fitness journey...
For as long as I can remember, I've been a competitive figure skater. I absolutely loved it (and still do), but I had issues with self confidence. This lead me to quit competitive skating early on in high school. I was never able to leave the sport completely, so I continued to skate about once a week for fun without the stress. I still do that to this day! It was a pretty big shock going from training hours a day, six days a week to one hour once a week. Enjoying my new-found freedom, I proceeded to do zero physical activity (other than my one hour of skating) and ate allllll the junk food. My body sort of freaked out! I lost 10-15 pounds of muscle, and gained it all back in fat. This is when I proceeded to try all the "quick fixes" but never stuck to it.
Soon after, I started learning about veganism. That's a story for another time, but eventually I became fully vegan for my health, the animals and the environment. That's when I decided I wanted to study nutrition. I am so passionate about it, and I think it is so powerful. What we eat literally becomes us, and I decided I wanted to be healthy, natural, vibrant and full of energy, which is why I chose to study holistic nutrition specifically. This started to translate into other aspects of my life, and I started to set big goals and aspirations I never thought possible. Now, I'm working towards those, and I want to help others do the same. I want my socials to be a place of inspiration and information that provide everything you need to change your mindset and live your best life through holistic health.
