Spring is the perfect time to implement new healthy habits. The sun and fresh air breed motivation, and you want to create those habits before the weather gets too hot and all you want to do is sit in the AC with an ice cream!
You have the power to change your life at any moment. I've challenged myself to do these healthy habits for the month of April, but 3 weeks is the magic number to create a habit! If you stick to these for the next three weeks I guarantee your life will be transformed. Each healthy action you do is raising your frequency, and your frequency is what attracts things (whether positive or negative) into your life. I highly recommend the book "You Are a Badass" by Jen Sincero if you want to learn more about this!
I also posted my first YouTube video ever on this topic! Click the YouTube icon in the top right corner to check it out :)

Anyways, onto the habits....
HABIT NUMBER ONE: Have a healthy morning routine!
If you start your morning scrolling on your phone, you're already removed from the present moment. Your mornings should be time to focus on bettering YOU! Here are some ideas for a healthy morning routine- but do whatever makes you happy!
-open the blinds and make your bed before you look at your phone
-chug a glass of water
-meditate or stretch
-journal
-read a chapter
HABIT NUMBER TWO: Focus on fresh, whole foods
Processed, junky foods only weigh your down and make you tired. Unhealthy habits flourish when we are tired! So to give yourself abundant energy, focus on fresh fruits, veggies, legumes, nuts and seeds. But of course, there's always room for a treat.
HABIT NUMBER THREE: Be productive
Checking things off a to-do list is one of the most satisfying feelings. If you do this early on in the day, it will get you on a roll and you won't want to stop! My priority right now is studying, so that's what I like to do near the beginning of the day, but I highly recommend writing your goals, priorities and tasks in a planner. Then each night before bed, you can craft your to-do list for the next day!
HABIT NUMBER FOUR: Move your body!
But make sure you're moving it in a way that you ENJOY, because that's how you'll stick to it and make it into a lifestyle as opposed to a quick fix. I've challenged myself to do at least ten minutes of yoga each day in April, but make yourself a fitness goal for the next three weeks, make a plan for it and write it into your planner!
HABIT NUMBER FIVE: Clean!
And I mean CLEAN! Clean out your room or your entire house, reorganize, redecorate, go crazy! I love changing up my decor for each season, but the real enjoyment in this comes from purging! Throwing out, gifting or donating your old stuff frees up space in both your house and your mind. Another book recommendation: Marie Kondo's "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up". Tidying has so many mindset benefits, and is yet another action that is raising your frequency!
BONUS HABIT: Change your look!
If you're really in a funk and need to kickstart some motivation, a fun way to do that can be changing up your look! For me, this meant chopping my hair off, but there are so many other options!
-go thrifting and change up your wardrobe style
-try a new makeup look
-get a hair cut or try a new hairstyle
OR if that's too much, just change the look of your environment by redecorating (see habit number five).
I love a fresh start and I hope this post convinced you that you can have a fresh start WHENEVER YOU CHOOSE!
Helping you create a healthy & happy mind, body and earth,
Mel xx
